This year event Theme is Hip Hop Education and Mental Heath in the Inner-City community.
This year Topics will include:
-Importance of merging Hip Hop and Education
-Mental Health/ Counseling Service for our Youth and Families
-Anger Management/ Behavior Modification
-Leadership
-Guns Control and Violences
and Performances
We are looking forward for your support as we work towards Ending the Violence in our Community, Music Culture, and Youth/Teens.

Rapsody, born Marlanna Evans on January 21, 1988 in North Carolina. Rapsody is a female Hip Hop Artist/ MC who rap about positivity. Her label is Jamla Records who she is associated with 9th Wonder (Producer) and both are members of the Universal Zulu Nation North Carolina. She is so Popular she even has her own website iamrapsody.com 

Rapsody raps to inspire the next generation of youth.”I want to inspire little girls, especially little black girls” which she said on msc.com. Me and Rapsody are fans of Michael Jackson,Queen Latifah, Lauryn Hill and one of her biggest inspiration is 9th Wonder (Producer).

Rapsody was on the BET cypher and Team BackPack freestyling displaying her rhyming Skills.

Rapsody said “I put my energy into the people that really love this culture…and that’s how you fight.”If Rapsody could do a repeat on any 2 songs she would do Lauryn Hill “Tell Him” and Her song “Hard to Choose”.

A Question was asked “What Project are you most Proud of? Rapsody said “Beauty in the Beast,” 

I think Rapsody inspires little black girls because she want them to feel special and inspired. She want to be who people could look up too.

Who is Lil Will?

Who is Lil Wil? a young inspiring Emcee who loves the art of Hip Hop and the Element of an Emcee. William Spriggs a 12 year old artist from Harrisburg Pennsylvania who grew up listen to Old School Hip Hop Music which taught him that Hip Hop is a positive way of life. Lil Wil Studying the culture and participating in the Hip Hop 101 Class at his School which give him the outlet to be more creative as a Artist. Lil Wil created a catchy hook called “A’s on my Test” which he turn the Catchy Hook into a beautiful Song. Lil Wil goal as a Hip Hop Artist is to change the negative stereotype about the culture. Lil Wil is working on another a powerful song about the issues that surrounds his community that effect his peers.

Lil Wil hoping one day to meet his Idol Kris Parker known as the Legendary KRS 1, an Hip Hop Legend, Activist,Philosopher and founder of the Temple Of Hip Hop who known for hit songs called “Bridge is Over”, “My Philosophy”, “Hip Hop Lives” and “I Was There”. I asked Lil Will which song is his favorite by the Blast Master KRS One? he replied “A Friend” because the song is sending a positive message also his Lyrical Flow his nice.

Lil Will Goal is to be a Successful Artist and a Musician. He want his music to be inspiring and life-changing for his peers and the community. The 7th Grader is currently working on his music and collaborating with other Hip Hop Youth who are also around the same age as him.

HIP HOP AGAINST VIOLENCE SCHOOL TOUR

8885161393_e9bab71462_o copy 6HHAV have partner up with the Jam Master Jay Foundation called JMJ Foundation 4 Youth and Embracing Arm inc. which both are 501 c 3 Non Profit.

Hip Hop Against Violence School Tour is a movement of young artist who is taking a stand to “Stop The Violence” and using Hip Hop as a tool to bridge the gap and unified the Community, Schools and Educators through Assemblies performances, Lectures and Workshop. The tour will consist of Break Dancers, Emcees, Poets and Speaker of victims families, or victim of Gun Violence.

HHAV started in 2006 by Hip Hop Educator and Historian Michele Hairston who founded the Unifying Through the Hip Hop Culture, Harrisburg City Breakers and a dedicated member of Universal Zulu Nation Pennsylvania Chapter.  Ms. Hairston started this movement to seek peace and unity by using Education, Entertainment and Arts through the Hip Hop Culture & Music.

In 2013, Shawn Vaughan, James Brickus, Elijah Ellis and Quinton Coker (Nephew of Jam Master Jay) had a vision to take the HHAV tour back into the schools to Perform and to improve the negative image of Hip Hop Culture by creating a energetic and fun event to engage with the students in a Auditorium Concert setting. Who is Temar Boggs? A 15 Year older Pennsylvanian who became a hero after saving a child from her kidnapper. On Thursday Afternoon a 5 year-old Jocelyn Rojas vanished from her front yard. The Authority believes the young child was abducted by a man who lured her into his car. Temar was helping a neighbor moving furniture when he heard the news. He notified his friend Chris who both got their bikes and jumped into action. Boggs spotted a car and noticed Rojas in the passages seat. Temar chased the car down for 15 minutes, once the man became scare he pushed the child out of the car and drove off.  The 5 Year old ran to Temar wanting her mother.  Temar escorted Rojas to the Police, “First she didn’t want to leave my arms because she was scared they were gonna do something to her,” said Boggs. Boggs was greeted with cheers from screaming searchers on their heroic act. From the Hip Hop Education 4 Youth, Temar  you are my hero. Thanks you for your Call on Duty to help save a child.
